Tuesday 24 March

Good morning amazing Goldfinches. I imagine yesterday was a little strange... but hopefully fun.

In my house we had a go at using the colour coded timetable- we didn’t stick to it completely but managed a bike ride in a quiet place without lots of people. In the morning, my children had a go at doing some maths and spellings or writing but then we spent most of the afternoon outside. Later, Toby and Amelie had a go at the space rocket Lego challenge and Lola helped me to plant some flowers in pots to put outside.

One of the things we are going to do today is write a little hello letter to post to my Nan and Gran who live a long way away. We think it will cheer them up like your rainbow messages to the Old People’s home.

I wonder if you have anyone who you might write a letter to or make a card for?

Another thing we are going to try is PE with Joe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6r99N3kXME

School Jobs  (see the attached file 'Home Learning Timetable Wb 23.3.20)

Today choose to do a different job from your pack e.g. a reading comprehension. This will help you with our Science topic on habitats. Then you could go outside in your garden and make a habitat  (Bug Hotel). We are going to mend the one Toby made last year which has fallen apart a little over winter. This is what it looks like at the moment but hopefully I can send an improved picture once it’s been mended.

Geography- your task for this week is as I explained in yesterday's blog. (Have another look if you want to remind yourself.

Volcanoes - use materials from your house to make a volcano

or

Rivers - watch the Fresh Water Planet Earth programme on BBC I-Player. I have uploaded some links on the Goldfinches Class page on the website to help you with your research.

Keep having a look at our school Twitter page as lots of teachers are posting on there.

Look after each other today and more from me tomorrow,

Mrs Evans

Message from Mrs Powell

Dear children, We have all started on a strange adventure, I wonder what we will learn to do over the next few months? I think you will find that your parents are the best teachers! Enjoy any activity you do for the first time. We are going to make bread in my house!

Finally,

Remember to keep washing your hands. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9VjeIWLnEg This is the link to our funny handwashing clip!
