Good morning lovely Owls.

Hope you all had a wonderful day yesterday. We released 4 of our butterflies yesterday which was very exciting. I have shared some pictures with you. Leo was beyond excited especially when he was holding them. Artie was terrified!! (That is why there are no pictures of him!) Our butterflies were painted lady butterflies with orange wings. Have a look on your walks/in your gardens to see if you can spot any similar ones?Maybe you might see ours.

It was lovely to see lots of you doing some wonderful things yesterday such as sharing pictures of walks you are going on, learning to ride your bike and brilliant phonics.
How are your sunflowers getting on? Have they started to grow. I know some of you have planted them outside as they have started to grow. Please send pictures of your sunflowers I would love to see them.

Grown ups- A fantastic new website was launched yesterday called the Oak National Academy. https://www.thenational.academy/online-classroom/reception/#schedule  I had a look yesterday and there are fantastic resources to support Reception including Maths lessons, writing ideas and topic activities. They are delivered by teachers using videos and hopefully you will find them really useful. The writing activities are really nice to use alongside our phonics if you want to do something extra. The Literacy lesson does a little phonics input at the beginning. If you are doing the RWI daily speed sound lesson I would just skip this part of the video and just use the writing activity. There are lessons for each day of the week. Don't feel you need to do every day. It would be great to have some feedback on how you find the resources and activities.

In my house, we have discovered Jump Start Jonny for a little bit of exercise (Leo and Artie think Joe Wickes talks too much and they get easily distracted!) Jonny is a bit crazy but the kids love it! Here is a link to one of our favourites https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1Pz_R4aaDo  No need to thank me... you will be doing the moves all day!

Have a fantastic day and as always please keep sharing your pictures and videos on Tapestry with us and if there is anything else we can do to support let us know!
Love Mrs Campion and Mrs Hoskins x
PS- I have included a poem that I saw on social media that I love so thought I would share it with you.

Message from Mrs Powell
“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more you learn, the more places you’ll go!” – Dr Seuss

What could you read today? It could be singing songs or reading something about a sport you love; things to read are everywhere. Go on - read anything!
