Our rehearsals for Hoodwinked are well under way and thank you for encouraging your child to learn their words at home. We are also sending home the words for the songs that we will be singing as we won’t be able to display the words on the night so need to learn the words asap.
Please speak to us if you are struggling to get a costume put together just speak to us. Costumes are due in school on Wednesday 17th November.
Remember to encourage your child to read for 15 – 20 mins daily and to record their reading in their diaries. We have stapled a list of recommended books for Year 6 children in the front of their diaries and we would like them to read some of these throughout the year. We have a lot of these texts in our class library so the children can borrow them from school or they might find some at their local library. We have asked them to tick off the books that that they read on the list.
Homework
Spellings for next week will focus will focus on suffixes.
Spellings will be tested on Thursday 19th November – admitting, forgotten, beginner, regretted, forbidden, beginning, stoppable, wettest, preferred, referring
Maths Homework – Key Stage Two Maths SATs Question Book and Times Tables Rockstars
Homework is page 16 Written Divisions and page 17 Multiplying and Dividing by 10, 100, 1000 of the SATs book.
Curriculum
Maths – Next week we will be looking at Fractions
Music – cello and violins lessons as well as learning to sing songs for our Christmas Production.
History – children will be researching and presenting their findings on an aspect of World War 1.
We will spend our afternoons (Wednesday – Friday) rehearsing for our Christmas Production
PE day will be every Friday (Mr Ault) and also on Wednesdays when we are not focusing on our Production.
