Homework

Continue to just focus on Reading and Spellings alongside Times Tables Rockstars.

Spellings for next few week will focus on the Year 5/6 Statutory Words

Spellings will be tested on Friday 18^th June – accommodate, amateur, available, category, competition, correspond, determined, environment, exaggerate, foreign

Curriculum

Maths –Algebra

We will finish this unit with some problems involving solving problems and then move onto Ratio and Proportion.

English – Island – A story of the Galapagos by Jason Chin

The focus will be on journalistic writing.

History

We will begin our study of the Ancient Mayan Civilisation

RE – Sikhism

We will explore objects and symbols that are important to Sikhs but also for us.    

Science – Electricity

Will focus on the components of a circuit and drawing the relevant symbols.

ART/DT – Mayan Masks

PE day will be on Thursday (Cricket Coach) and on Friday (Mr Ault)

Toucans can also attend Mr Ault’s after school club on Fridays.
