Good morning Toucans.

Thank you to everyone who shared their healthy recipes with us on Friday. We hope you all had a lovely weekend and are ready to impress us again this week with the quality of your home learning. We look forward to seeing you all on our Zoom calls this week.

  Maths

DIVISION with remainders - Great work last week on Multiplication. Today we will look at Division using the short method. Again like I mentioned on Friday, it is worth doing a Times Tables activity first to help speed up your working outs. Do some TTRs or maybe try one of these games.

  Reading

Toucans, we would love you to read a little each day of the school book you have or a book you have been reading at home.

Spellings

This week we will be looking at the spellings ei and ie.

We will focus on the first 3 words today -  ceiling, shriek, perceive

Write each word out 3 times in your best handwriting.

Circle the ei or ie in each word.

Can you write an explanation for each word, maybe put the word in a sentence to explain its meaning?

Take a look at this weblink to the see an online lesson on this spelling rule and there is a quiz at the bottom of the page that you can try.

I have also attached a quick activity on ie words for you to do.

Spelling words:        ceiling, shriek, perceive, relief, receive, piece, protein, achieve, niece, mischief

Story

The Last Post’ by Keith Campion, read by Mrs Whittingham

 Worship

Please click the link to Mrs Powell’s worship today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cq0u-LIaDv0&feature=youtu.be

Reflection: Mrs Powell’s message today was about our Christian Value of RESPECT. Make a hand poem of your own all about respect. Who and what do you want to pray for at the moment? You could draw around your own or an adult’s hand, cut it out and write an idea on each finger like Mrs Powell shared in her worship.
