Good morning Toucans.

I hope you all had a lovely weekend with your families. Did you do anything nice together? Feel free to share what you have been doing on our Discussion page today. I hope you are all ready for another week of home learning. Mrs Downing and myself were so impressed with the quality of your work last week.

  Maths

SHAPE – Translations with Coordinates See the Power point attached. Our home learning maths lessons will be guided by a recording of Mrs Whittingham’s voice, which will explain what to do (Just click on the little speaker icon on the power point page). I have also included the answers on the last slide so no peaking until you have had a go at answering the questions yourself!

Please watch this video if you can’t access the audio on the PowerPoint. Remember to just pause it when needed and you can play back too if required.

  Reading

Toucans, we would love you to read a little each day of the school book you have or a book you have been reading at home.

If you continue to record your reading in your diary and get an adult to sign your diary each time you read, you will still be able to collect your raffle tickets when we are back in school.

I have also attached the First News, which I know you enjoy reading in class.

Spellings

This week we will be looking at the ‘sh’ sound spelt si or ssi.

We will focus on the first 3 words today -  profession, discussion, confession

Write each word out 3 times in your best handwriting.

Circle the si or ssi in each word.

Can you identify the root word in each spelling and compose a sentence with it?

Reflection

For your reflection you could tell someone in your house all about the Creation story (or even phone/face time a relative or friend) or you could make a cartoon strip or mini book with a section for each day of the story.

Have a great day everyone. Remember to use the Discussion page on School Spider to chat to us about your work today. Mrs Downing will be available all day today to chat to you. I will be catching up with Goldfinches on their ‘chat’.

Best wishes from Mrs Downing, Mrs Whittingham and Mr Beswick.
