Week beg 26th April 2021
It has been a delight this week to have the opportunity to chat to parents about how their children are getting on in class. Welcoming Toucans back after the break this week has been lovely and we have had a busy week as usual! The children have been learning about a Leadership Award that they will be doing over this term that is run by the Archbishop of York Trust.
Continue to just focus on Reading and Spellings alongside Times Tables Rockstars.
Spellings for next week will focus on plurals.
Spellings will be tested on Friday 30th April – bonuses, addresses, boxes, wishes, matches, peaches, dictionaries, identities, binoculars, coaches
Maths – Decimals
Focus has been on converting fractions to decimals this week and next week it will be multiplying and dividing decimals.
English – The Selfish Giant by Oscar Wilde
We will be planning, drafting and editing our final piece of writing for this unit of work.
RE – Understanding Humanism
We will finish this topic next week by looking at how Humanists mark and celebrate special events in their lives. We will then move on to finding out about Sikhism.
Geography – Human and physical geographical features
We will be spending time outdoors identifying these features
Science – Electricity
At the moment we are revising previous work on circuits before we begin looking at making our own circuits.
PE days will be Thursday, when possible, (rounders/athletics) and Friday (Mr Ault).
The children will have cricket again in after the May half term.
Toucans can also attend Mr Ault’s after school club on Fridays.
