Starlings Home Learning 15th January

Date: 14th Jan 2021 @ 1:32pm

Friday 15th January

Good morning Starlings and happy Friday!

I think you have all earned a little treat once you’ve finished your home learning today, maybe you could enjoy a special snack together today!

As usual, for today’s learning we would like you to complete a maths, phonics and writing lesson today. There is no separate spelling task today because the writing lesson has a spelling focus today.

As usual, I will be online on the class discussion page today (between normal school hours again) so please share your work and get involved with our discussion if you can. Any problems please either let me know on the discussion page or email admin@lostockgralam.cheshire.sch.uk and we will do our very best to resolve these straight away.

  Maths

Time- After working so hard on days of the week yesterday, today you will be learning about the months of the year. Mrs. Judge has recorded her powerpoint for you and there’s also a months of the year chart you will see on the page below which you need to download please.

The link to the youtube version of the video is: Friday 15th January Time 2

Alternatively you can find the powerpoint version when you scroll down the page if you would prefer to download it.

 Writing

Today’s focus is on tricky words from the Year 1 national curriculum words. There will not be an additional spelling task today because of this. You will need some coloured pencils or felt tips and some plain paper because you will be making a spelling squiggle! Enjoy.

A downloadable copy of the lesson powerpoint can be found below, and the youtube link to today's video is:  https://youtu.be/B0BGeUhl1Pw

As an end of the week prayer, let’s adapt our school prayer for home learning:

Dear God

This is our home, may our home be full of joy

May love be here among us every day

Let us remember that as many hands build a house, so every child can make this home a lovely place,

Amen

Don't forget your fitness challenge over the weekend. Here are some ideas for you to try.

Friday: Have a go at dancing and singing along to this super movers song about being happy and staying safe: https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/supermovers/pshe-super-mood-movers-being-happy-and-safe/z6q3sk7

Saturday: Why not try and get out for a family walk, hopefully it will be nice and dry outside but if not why not make it a welly walk and enjoy jumping in puddles!

Sunday: Try some cosmic yoga: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YR1OxBk8BF4

Enjoy your day today and we hope you have a lovely, safe and happy weekend. Thank you again for all your hard work at home this week, it is not going un-noticed!
