Super swimmers this week!

Friday Superstar: Ethen

Top Table: Lydia and Lexi

Swimming:  this has been so successful so far! All the children have impressed me so much with their enthusiasm, courage and perseverance. I am so proud! Swimming will continue for Year 4 on Wednesday and Thursday for some of the children and Friday for the whole class. Please continue to send a swim kit in to school.

Friday 14th (Pupil take over day)- Non Uniform day in return for £2 donation. Please remember your child will also have PE and swimming on this day so ensure they wear/bring suitable footwear.

This week we have:

Loved swimming, have been excellent listeners and have made such lovely progress already. On Wednesday we enjoyed working with Mrs Campion as part of our transition to Year 5. Thursday afternoon showed some budding chefs as we learned to chop and slice safely using the bridge method. We made some delicious Greek Salads! We have used our super knowledge of decimals to help us learn about money and solve money problems.

Next week we will:

Writing: Write our own explanations and use computing to complete a glossary.

Spellings: We will work on our personal spellings in class but no more spellings will be sent home this year.

Reading homework: Keep up with the 10 minutes a day target.

Please have a good root around at home to search out any school books so we have time to sort them ready for next term.

Maths homework: Continuing to play a game on the Maths Frame Multiplication Check will continue to help build their fluency and to end year 4 and begin year 5 with as much confidence as possible.

SRE: We will follow the Christopher Winter’s scheme of work which is age appropriate for Year 4 for Sex and Relationships education. In these lessons we will learn about the human life cycle, how our bodies change as we grow up and enter puberty and how to look after our bodies. Please speak to Mrs Evans if you want to know further detail about the content.

PE: Monday, Tuesday and Friday.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us via the office if you would like to discuss anything about your child.  admin@lostockgralam.cheshire.sch.uk     01606668270

Have a lovely weekend,
