Hello Starling families and welcome to our weekly blog! We have had another super week of learning in Skylarks Class ?

Mrs Southern and I are so proud of how well the children have settled in and how well they are working, they really are all superstars.

English

In our English lessons next week, we will continue to explore our text ‘Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers.  We have already used clues from the text to make predictions about what the story may be about.

Maths

In maths, we will be continuing to compare quantities and measures up to 10.  Already we have been exploring our maths resources and using them to explain our thinking.

RWI

The children have been assessed to ascertain their groups for Read Write Inc.  They will be bringing a book home each Friday to have for the week before returning it the following Friday to exchange for their new book.

Spellings

The children will receive a list of spellings each week and we will quiz them on a Friday morning. The next quiz will be on 17^th September and the spellings are:

Our PE days will be Wednesday and Friday so your child should come to school in their PE kit on these days. Please remember PE kits should either be school kits or plain black/blue. Can we also ask that your child has a drink bottle that is clearly named and contains only water. Please can you also make sure that if your child is wearing laced up trainers they are able to tie them independently.
