Lostock Gralam Church of England Primary School is proud to be part of the Chester Diocesan Learning Trust (CDLT) family of schools.

CDLT is a Church of England multi-academy trust that works in partnership with schools across our region to provide the very best education for every child. Rooted in Christian values, the Trust’s vision is to enable all pupils to flourish academically, spiritually, and personally. By being part of CDLT, [School Name] benefits from collaboration, shared expertise, and support that strengthen teaching, learning, and leadership, while retaining the unique character of our own school community.

You can find out more about the Trust, its schools, and its work by visiting the CDLT website: www.cdlt.org.uk.

All statutory information and documentation relating to the Trust, including financial reports, policies, and governance details, are published on the CDLT website.

Christian Vision

The vision for the Trust is founded on Paul’s letter to the Corinthians, where he talked about unity in diversity. Celebrating the unique talents and skills of each child, staff member, leader, governor and community member, CDLT is coming together to create one body with one ambition: to empower adults and children to grow, shaping a better future for all.

Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.

1 Corinthians 12:12

Saint Paul teaches, ‘the body is not made up of one part but of many.’ Chester Diocesan Learning Trust recognises and nurtures the unique gifts, skills and talents within our whole community. We seek to empower adults and children to grow in character and mind, shaping a better future.

Our Trust is built upon core Christian values, creating an educational system where institutions collaborate to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.

Collaborative Relationships

At the heart of our strategy are positive, collaborative relationships. We are committed to championing the unique, diverse nature of our schools, celebrating their individual strengths while fostering a strong sense of community.

This is achieved by valuing and resourcing local governance, developing supportive networks for peer-to-peer learning, and promoting collaboration both within the Trust and with Chester Diocesan Board of Education.

Through this, we cultivate a learning community that provides high-quality, inclusive education, offering equity rather than equality and ensuring every child, regardless of background or need, can achieve their true potential.

Effective & Ethical Support

To facilitate this vision, CDLT is dedicated to the effective and ethical deployment of all its resources. We utilise our collective buying power to secure high-quality services and educational resources at the best value.

As our Trust grows, we are strategically developing a central team that provides robust support to our schools, ensuring our growth is financially sustainable. This practical support is intrinsically linked to our commitment to wellbeing, as we prioritise the mental, spiritual, and physical health of both children and adults across the Trust, creating safe, encouraging, and sustainable environments for learning and working.

Valuing Everyone

Ultimately, our goal is to ensure that everyone within the CDLT community feels valued, supported, and inspired. We provide extensive professional development programmes for staff, encourage innovation, and establish networks that offer a chance to share challenges and celebrate success.

Focussing on a healthy work-life blend, we empower our leaders and staff. Our supportive approach helps every part of our Trust to work harmoniously, benefitting the whole community.
