Staying Safe

Nothing is more important to us than the safety and welfare of our pupils. We take rigorous steps to ensure that children stay safe and do not come to any harm. We work closely with parents / carers and a range of professional external agencies in order to secure this.
 
Hi, my name is Laura Southall and I'm the family support worker here at Lostock Gralam Primary School. I'm employed by the charity Changing Lives Together but spend most of my time here in school. I'm a mum of three girls so know just how difficult it can be juggling family when things sometimes aren't going quite to plan. You can find me in school on Mondays, Wednesdays and after half term Fridays aswell! I can support you in many different ways - whether it's some friendly, positive advice over the phone, referrals to foodbank or other local agencies or advice on housing, benefits, parenting and money management to name just a few. If you feel like you need a little bit of extra support, please feel free to give me a call at school. Look forward to speaking to you!

For questions or concerns about safeguarding at Lostock C of E Primary School, please speak to Mrs. Powell or Mrs. Downing or Mrs. Rice. Mrs. Powell or Mrs. Downing, Mrs. Rice and Mrs.Esling receive Cheshire West and Chester Local Authority's Level 3 Safeguarding training for designated safeguarding leads.  They also have Safer Recruitment training.  All staff have regular safeguarding training led by Mrs. Powell in line with guidance from

Mr. Barker is the Safeguarding link governor.  Mrs.Powell (Headteacher and Designated Safeguarding Lead) 

Mrs. Downing is the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead in addition to her role as Deputy Head.

 

TAF (Team Around the Family)

A Team Around the Family (TAF) meeting should take place when an assessment identifies the need for a multi-agency response. It provides the opportunity to discuss how additional needs can be met for the family. The main functions are: to bring together children, young people, parents and practitioners.
