31.3.20 Starlings

Date: 31st Mar 2020 @ 8:58am

Good morning!

I hope you are all keeping well and being the happy, helpful and respectful Starlings that I know and love. Are you ready for another busy day of home learning? Please see our attached timetable for a list of suggested activities to complete today.

I am still enjoying spending lots of time outdoors. I am keeping up with my couch to 5K running routine and have just completed my 6th run. This is quite an achievement for me. Perhaps you could spend some more time enjoying your outdoor spaces too?  Below are some fantastic ideas taken from the National Trust ’50 things to do before you are 11 3/4’ list.

  • Eat a picnic in your garden
  • Make a mud creation
  • Have fun with sticks
  • Wear a wild crown (made from natural materials)
  • Create some wild art
  • Join natures band – making music outdoors
  • Hunt for fossils and bones
  • Go stargazing
  • Go on a scavenger hunt
  • Make friends with bugs
  • Go cloud watching
  • Make a home for wildlife
  • Help a plant to grow
  • Watch the birds
  • Create and follow maps of your garden to find hidden treasure
  • Keep a nature diary
  • Watch the sunset
  • Make a camp fire

I have also attached a selection of prompts to help you to become nature spotters while enjoying the outdoors. Perhaps you could draw and write about what you see in you yellow book?

Does this quote remind your Starling of a little song we sang in school a couple of weeks ago? Perhaps they could sing it to you. Could they record it and send it to family members they are missing to help make them smile? Spread the happiness!

I am missing you lots today and sending you all a big virtual hug! Have the loveliest of days with your very special families. Stay safe Starlings and remember: Ready, Respectful and Safe (Even at home).

Lots of love, Miss Gillam J

A message from Mrs Powell

“ I think I can. I know I can.”

Dear children,

When we do something do we say we can’t do it?  Try and change that today and tell yourself you can do anything.  Remember you are amazing and if you believe in yourself you can do anything!
