If your child was born between 1 September 2013 and 31 August 2014, and you are a Cheshire West and Chester resident you need to apply for a school place before 15 January 2018. Key admission dates for applying for a place to start school in September 2018,

1 September 2017 Application process starts – online application facility open, booklet available containing important information regarding the admissions process
15 January 2018 Closing date for application forms to be returned to the Council
16 April 2018 Notification of offers


  • Offer letters notifying parent/carers of school place offered sent out by post to parents/carers who have applied using a paper application.


  • Online offers made available for parents/carers to view, emails sent to parents/carers who have applied online notifying of the school place offered.
24 April 2018 Closing date for acceptance or decline of place offered
15 May 2018 Closing date for appeal applications
by 17 July 2018 Appeal hearings (on time applicants)

Determined admission arrangements for 2017-18

Cheshire West and Chester Cabinet determined the local authority’s 2017-18 admission arrangments and coordinated admissions scheme on 3 February 2016 in accordance with the statutory requirements of the School Admissions Code which states that admission authorities must determine their arangements by 28 February.
